Jim Del Bondio is one of Napa Valley's most respected vineyard managers. Jim's uncle Al was the general manager of Inglenook and his brother Bryan is the president of Markham Vineyards. So you can see that the art of wine growing runs in the Del Bondio family. This extraordinary wine comes directly from Jim's vineyard on the valley floor in Oakville.
The sailboat on the bottle is a drawing of our own sailboat that we regularly race. It's a Melges 24 made by Melges Boat Works in Zenda, Wisconsin. There are over 700 of these pure racing machines making it a very popular one design racing class. In fact, the 2008 World Championships in Sardinia had 117 entries. No, we didn't go but we are planning on the 2009 Worlds to be held in Annapolis, Maryland. There's nothing like a glass of fine wine with our friends after a great day of racing on San Francisco bay.
